Ethics Statement

The journal Trends in Computational and Applied Mathematics fully adheres to the COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines. To facilitate the contribution of high-quality scientific studies to academic publishing, TCAM journal follows a rigorous peer review procedure and defined ethical principles and standards. When we become aware of ethical difficulties, we are committed to investigating and taking the necessary steps to protect the integrity of the literature and the safety of research participants. Manuscripts must follow the editorial and ethical criteria established on this page and in the Guidelines for Authors.

Principles

  •  Prevention: early detection and flagging of potential ethical concerns through automated assessments and manuscript peer review manuals.
  •  Neutrality: being fair and objective, making judgments to correct the literature when necessary.
  •  Transparency: Where possible and appropriate, inform all parties and give them time to respond.
  •  Consistency: Ensure that appropriate processes are followed for investigating concerns and applicability of policies and that COPE principles and flowcharts are adhered to.

Ethical Guidelines for Authors

Authors submitting manuscripts to TCAM must ensure they are ethically sound and meet industry-recognized standards as listed in TCAM policies.

Authors who submit their manuscripts to TCAM must:

  •  Present the results of your research accurately and give an objective assessment of their importance.
  •  Maintain accurate authorship by only including those eligible for authorship and explicitly describing their contribution.
  •  At the time of submission, disclose any information that could be interpreted as a potential conflict of interest.
  •  Present your data and techniques accurately. The data and methods used in the study must be described in sufficient detail in the publication so that other researchers can repeat your work. Raw data must be made public unless there is a strong reason otherwise (for example, if there is a confidentiality agreement).
  •  Be aware that the simultaneous submission of articles to several journals is not authorized.
  •  Original research results must be unique and unpublished.
  •  Obtain permission from the copyright owners to publish any previously published content (including quotes, figures, or tables).
  •  Immediately report any errors or inaccuracies discovered after publication.

This is not a complete list; Authors must know local rules and acceptable academic publishing practices.

A copy of approval from the Ethics Committee of your research institution must accompany research related to humans and animals.
